Two Important Truths About Weight Loss

Posted by Robert

Weight loss is never easy, but if you follow certain weight loss rules and guidelines, your task becomes easier! There are some weight loss rules that you need to follow, and others that you can safely ignore. Here are two of the most important weight loss guidelines:

1. Eat more frequently, but smaller meals during the day.

Having smaller, more frequent meals can prevent you from getting ravenously hungry and overeating. Eating frequently will also help regulate and boost your metabolism to burn more calories. In fact, this is one of the secrets to a fast metabolism. The act of eating and digesting supportive foods frequently, increases your metabolism so you can burn more fat and calories all day long. A high meal frequency, eating 5 or 6 meals a day, about 3 hours apart, will allow you to lose fat as quickly as possible.

2. Do not skip your breakfast.

This is one of the most common, but totally uninformed methods that people implement in order to lose weight quickly. They feel that if they starve their bodies long enough, their fat will naturally burn off (since their bodies, finding no other energy resource would start burning the fat deposits). The reality, my friend, is way different from what you think. Here is what happens when you skip breakfast:

* During sleep, your metabolism obviously slows down. By avoiding breakfast you force your body into more time of a slower metabolism, and you stop burning fat.
* If you keep your body hungry, it feels that there is a famine and it needs to conserve energy in the form of fat in order to survive. So, instead of burning it (as you would want to happen), it stores fat deposits inside your body. Ultimately you don’t lose an iota of fat!

All right, but then where does the body get it’s energy from?

Well, the body gets energy by burning your valuable lean muscles. This is the reason why after a considerable period of starving, you start to suffer from fatigue. Slowly, your body gets weaker and weaker. All this while you have NOT lost even an ounce of fat!

Eating more regular but smaller meals, and eating breakfast are your friends in the race to losing weight successfully. You boost your metabolic rate, with the result that your body starts, and keeps burning fat! It may take a while before you notice the effects, but get into these habits, and the sooner you will.
