How to Lose a Pound a Day

Posted by Jone Share This

To lose a pound a day, your body must expend 3500 more calories than you consume on that specific day. This can be done by some combination of exercise and caloric restriction.

For example, if you spend an hour running an intense training program on a treadmill, you could burn 1500 calories. And if you are used to eating 4 meals a day, you just need to either cut out 500 calories from each meal or you need to make food substitutions at each meal that equal 500 calories less.

To lose a pound a day is no easy task for anybody.

That is why there is a much simpler, more effective, and much more effortless way to lose a pound a day than to exercise more and to eat less:

The solution is to engage in what is known as calorie shifting.

Calorie shifting is when you, quite literally as the term implies, shift the types of calories that you consume, from meal to meal. This means that your fruits, your vegetables, your proteins, your breads, your carbohydrates should be grouped together sequentially in such a way that each meal rotationally shifts a different combination of each type of calorie group together at subsequent meals.

The net effect is that your body’s metabolism will be prompted to tap into your body’s fat stores for energy due to a perceived nutritional deficit, which is what this diet simulates.

Of course, the reality is that you will be eating plentiful food from all four food groups. In fact, it is even theoretically possible for you to eat as much food, if not more food, than what you are accustomed to consuming, rather than less. The emphasis is not on calorie reduction, but on calorie shifting.
