30 Minutes to Better Health for Singles

Posted by mob Share This

Admit it. There are times when you come home too tired to make something healthy for dinner and you wind up eating a bowl of cereal or chips and salsa. Perhaps you had planned to eat a big salad for dinner, yet you find yourself stopping by for take-out yet again. Are these habits making you fat?

When you’re cooking for one, it can be difficult to prepare yourself a wholesome dinner. There’s nobody to impress, so we wind up making excuses. I’ll eat better tomorrow. I’ll do extra cardio at the gym. I didn’t sleep well last night. Work was so hard today.

What if I told you that in just 30 minutes a week, you can make it just as easy to prepare something healthy as it is to prepare one of your unhealthy standbys? It’s true.

Simply cut up all of your fresh vegetables the day you buy them at the grocery store. Then store them in plastic baggies. It should take less than 30 minutes to do this, depending on how many vegetables you buy. Most vegetables will stay fresh for at least a week this way. (Tomatoes are an exception to this, but you can buy cherry tomatoes, which you don’t have to cut.)

Vegetables are great to eat because they are packed with vitamins and low in calorie. They also have lots of fiber and minerals and well…it’s hard to find something bad to say about vegetables.

Now when you come home, the easiest thing you have to make is a fresh salad! It’s no big deal to stir-fry some vegetables while rice is cooking. You can easily whip up a pasta primavera.

In addition to meals, it also becomes easy to eat fresh vegetables as a snack, especially if you have a few dips handy.

So just try it! In less than 30 minutes, you could be eating healthier all week.

So she started the website Better Off Fat to share her experiences and ideas.
